National Express is a major national transport provider and is highly regarded for its continuing success. However like all companies it faces the same issues of recruiting the right people into the right positions. One way identified by the company to help find their team leaders and middle management was through developing the people already employed by them. These were often people who did not see themselves as "management" candidates. The Project worked with National Express and the regional office of GoSkills to look at how the strategy is working to up skill staff and give them the confidence to grow their roles within the business in a way they had not previously considered.
