Petrissage (from the French word “Petrir” meaning to kneed or rub with force)
· is a range of kneading, rolling, compression and squeezing movements using hands, heel of hand, knuckles, elbows and fingers to lift and compress large muscles stimulating deep tissue circulation and breaking down fatty deposits that can then be eliminated through the lymphatic system.
· Toxins such as lactic acid which cause muscle stiffness can be removed using this stroke.
